Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons, prep materials, and maintain sterile field across diverse procedures. The role includes teaching and mentoring staff, coordinating with the surgical team, and ensuring case readiness for a range of operations.

The candidate will support intra-op needs, adapt to surgeon preferences, and contribute to efficient OR turnover. A Certificate or Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology and BLS certification are required; new grads are

Qualifications

• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Education: Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology.
• Work Experience: Accepts New Grads.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Scrub and assist to maintain sterile field and assist as needed.
• Precept and mentor RNs and other staff during cases.
• Plan for intra-op events and respond to changes promptly.
• Communicate and collaborate with team to ensure instruments and equipment are available.
