Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support direct and indirect care in the operating room. You will assist surgeons, prepare instruments, and maintain sterile fields, while mentoring other techs and students. A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology and BLS certification within 30 days. New grads welcome to apply for this role.

Qualifications

• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days (AHA).
• Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
• Ensure instruments and sutures are complete and functional; set up sterile field and scrub before patient entry.
• Set up case to allow organized back table and mayo; anticipate case needs and maintain efficiency.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs; teach scrubbing on a variety of cases; mentor peers.
