Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer to lead design reviews and mentor a team of engineers on substation projects. The role involves structural analysis of steel and concrete components, foundation and shelter design, and travel to client sites for inspections and coordination.

The ideal candidate has a BS (or MS) in Civil/Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant substation experience, and may hold a PE license or be able to obtain one within 3–12 months.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years.
• PE License preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain within 3–12 months.
• Experience with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software, required.
• Experience with RISA 3D or STAAD.Pro, SAG10, FAD or LPile software, required.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
• Develop junior staff and mentor team members.
• Perform site visits to client substations and travel as needed.
• Work on designs and reviews under seismic loading conditions.
