Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer to lead design reviews and develop bid/construction packages for substation projects. Ideal candidates have a Civil/Structural background with 5+ years of experience and a PE license in the US.

The role requires collaboration with clients, engineers, and drafting staff, and may involve site visits and travel. Remote-friendly location with CA/WA/OR flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or Masters (MS) with 3+ years of relevant experience
• PE License Preferred in California, Washington, Oregon OR the ability to obtain licensure in these states within 3-12 months.
• Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software, required
• Experience with RISA 3D or/and STAAD.Pro, SAG10, FAD or/and LPile software, required
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation required
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff

Responsibilities

• Lead substation structural design projects and reviews
• Mentor junior engineers and drafting staff
• Develop bid/construction package components for substation projects
• Coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams
• Ensure design compliance with codes under seismic loading
