Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with a BS/MS in Civil/Structural Engineering and 5+ years of design experience. You will lead project design reviews, mentor junior staff, and ensure adherence to codes, especially under seismic loading.

Expect client site visits and some travel to CA, WA, OR as needed. Strong knowledge of steel/concrete design, geotechnical aspects, and foundations is essential, with experience in oil containment and shelter/firewall designs preferred.

Qualifications

BS degree in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years.
PE License preferred in CA, WA or OR or ability to obtain within 3–12 months.
Proficiency with MATHCAD, Word/Excel/PowerPoint and CAD tools.
Experience with structural design for substations and seismic loading.

Responsibilities

Lead senior design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
Develop junior staff and coordinate with engineers, designers, and drafters.
Perform and review substation structure, foundation, and firewall designs.
Travel to client sites and participate in meetings as required.
