Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer to lead design reviews of substation structures, foundations, and seismic components. The role includes mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients to develop bid/construction packages.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering with 5+ years of experience in the electric utility sector, strong analytical writing, and proficiency with RISA 3D, STAAD.Pro, and MATHCAD.

Qualifications

BS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
MS degree with 3+ years of relevant experience preferred.
PE license preferred; ability to obtain licensure in CA/WA/OR within 3–12 months.
Experience with design/review of substation structures, foundations, and related components.
Experience with seismic loading design and review.

Responsibilities

Lead projects and perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation work.
Develop junior staff and provide technical guidance.
Coordinate with clients and staff; travel to client sites as needed.
