Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer with a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant design experience. The role focuses on design reviews, lead responsibilities, and mentoring junior staff within substations, foundations, and structural systems.

Candidates should have strong knowledge of seismic design, familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation, and experience in the electric utility sector. Remote site visits may be required; travel periodically.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering with 5+ years of design experience.
• PE license preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain within 3–12 months.
• Experience with Word/Excel/PowerPoint and MATHCAD.
• Experience with RISA 3D and STAAD.Pro plus SAG10, FAD, LPile.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and perform design reviews for civil/structural components.
• Develop and mentor junior staff members.
• Perform site visits to client substation facilities.
• Occasionally travel for client meetings and industry events.
• Ensure designs comply with seismic loading standards.
