Job summary

Stantec is seeking Intermediate and Senior Civil/Structural Engineers to support Substation Physical Electrical Teams. You will lead substation structural design efforts, coordinate with Physical Electrical teams, and contribute to cost estimates and project planning.

The role requires experience with 13kV–500kV levels, AIS and GIS substation types, and familiarity with IEEE and related design codes. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered PE preferred, with NCEES Record desired.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with 8–10 years in power delivery.
• Experience with substation expansions and field data collection.
• Site visits may be required; field work could occur in the elements.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of foundations, equipment support, rigid bus and enclosures for power projects.
• Perform QA/QC of structural engineering design packages.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to meet timelines.
• Allocate resources and track man hours on projects.
• Review and approve substation drawings and calculations.
• Produce complete station drawings with P&C team.
• Attend client interactions and status meetings.
• Participate in project planning and proposals.
• Coordinate resources across US and international offices.
