Job summary

Stantec seeks Intermediate and Senior Civil/Structural Engineers to support Substation Physical Electrical Teams. Lead substation structural design, coordinate with Physical Electrical teams, and guide projects from design through execution for 13kV–500kV systems.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, project leadership, and a solid understanding of IEEE/MOP standards, with experience in AIS and GIS substations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field with 8–10 years in power delivery.
• Experience with substation design and project engineering from 13kV to 500kV levels.
• Familiarity with AIS/GIS substations, single line diagrams, and layout.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering efforts for design of foundations, equipment support, rigid bus and enclosures.
• Perform QA/QC of structural design packages.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to meet timelines.
• Allocate resources and track man hours on projects.
• Review and approve design drawings and calculations for compliance and quality.
• Produce complete station drawings with P&C teams.
• Attend client interactions and project status meetings.
• Participate in project planning and proposal development.
• Coordinate engineering resources across US and international offices.
