Job summary

Stantec is seeking Intermediate and Senior Civil/Structural Engineers to support our Substation Physical Electrical Teams. You will lead substation structural design efforts and coordinate with Physical Electrical teams across US and international offices.

The role requires experience with 13kV–500kV projects, AIS/GIS knowledge, and design codes like IEEE. You will plan work, manage resources, and contribute to client interactions, reports, and cost estimating.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with 8–10 years’ experience in power delivery.
• Registered PE preferred, with NCEES Record desired.
• Experience with site visits to capture technical data for estimates and execution.
• Ability to lead a design team on substation projects and coordinate across disciplines.
• Familiarity with IEEE and related design codes (MOP).

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering for foundations, equipment supports, and rigid bus.
• Perform QA/QC of structural design packages.
• Coordinate with PMs and discipline leads to meet schedules.
• Allocate resources and track project man-hours.
• Review and approve substation drawings and calculations.
• Produce complete station drawings with P&C team.
• Attend client meetings and project reviews.
• Support proposal development and planning.
• Coordinate resources across US and international offices.
