Job summary

United Grid Solutions seeks an experienced Substation Protection & Control Engineer to lead design, engineering, and technical oversight for transmission substation projects, battery energy storage, and solar substations. You will guide protection schemes, write specs, mentor junior staff, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with other disciplines and field teams.

Requirements: 8+ years as a practicing engineer, ABET-accredited degree, and PE license.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of practicing engineer experience.
• ABET/EAC accredited degree or equivalent.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

Responsibilities

• Lead discipline work for projects, and manage schedules and budgets.
• Design and implement protection schemes for substations and lines.
• Create and review specifications, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with other design disciplines.
• Support proposals, cost estimating, and business development.
• Visit sites and advise on engineering issues during construction.
