Job summary

United Grid Solutions is seeking a senior Protection & Control Engineer to lead design teams focused on substation protection and control for utility projects, including transmission facilities and storage systems.

The role demands 5–7 years of engineering experience, ABET/EAC-accredited education, and PE licensure or eligibility within one year. You will mentor staff and ensure schedules and budgets are met while interfacing with clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years’ experience as a practicing engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree from ABET/EAC accredited program or equivalent evaluation.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to be licensed within one year.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation protection and control design teams.
• Create project scopes, estimates, budgets, and schedules.
• Oversee junior staff and mentor designers/drafters.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, contractors, and clients.
• Visit sites and resolve design issues during construction.
• Support proposal development and cost estimating.
