Job summary

United Grid Solutions seeks a Senior Protection & Control Engineer to lead a design team delivering substation P&C projects for 500kV systems, battery storage, and solar substations. You will provide technical direction, perform responsible charge engineering duties, and support proposal development and cost estimating.

The role requires leading discipline work, overseeing budgets and schedules, and mentoring junior staff while coordinating with clients and other design disciplines on complex

Qualifications

• 5 to 7 years’ experience as a practicing engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET/accredited Engineering Program OR evaluation of non-ABET credentials by NCEES OR graduation from a Master’s or Doctoral Program in Engineering from an institution with ABET-accredited Undergraduate Engineering Programs.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to be licensed within one year.

Responsibilities

• Advanced understanding of protection and control fundamentals for utility substation and transmission line equipment.
• Design of protection schemes for substation and transmission line equipment, including bus, line, capacitor and transformer design and protection schemes and settings.
• Lead a team of engineers and designers in a lead engineer capacity.
• Create substation P&C design project scopes, estimates, budgets, and schedules for substation projects.
• Read, interpret, design, and engineer P&C designs for utility stations through 500kV, including one lines, three lines, schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and SCADA.
• Manage budgets and project schedules.
