Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking a senior engineer to lead protection and control design for substation projects, including SCADA design and battery energy storage systems. You will mentor engineers and oversee budgets and schedules, while supporting business development and proposals.

Field visits to resolve on-site issues are expected. Requirements include 8+ years as a practicing engineer, an ABET-accredited degree (or NCEES equivalent) and PE licensure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a practicing engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET/EAC accredited Engineering Program or NCEES evaluation of non-ABET credentials; or Master’s/Doctoral in engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection and control design and direction for substation projects.
• Lead a team of engineers and designers; manage schedules and budgets.
• Support proposal development, cost estimating, and business development.
• Create processes to improve P&C design outputs (one-line and three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams).
• Oversee junior staff and mentor designers/drafters.
• Collaborate with other disciplines, construction contractors, consultants, and clients.
• Visit sites and modify designs to address construction issues.
