Job summary

United Grid Solutions is seeking a Senior Substation Protection and Control Engineer to lead design and engineering for transmission substations, battery energy storage systems, and solar collector projects. You will oversee discipline work, provide responsible charge engineering, mentor junior staff, and manage project schedules, budgets, and QA processes while supporting proposals and cost estimating.

Requirements include 8+ years as a practicing engineer, PE license, and an ABET/accredited

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional engineering experience.
• PE license required.
• ABET/EAC accreditation or equivalent evaluation.
• Bachelor's or higher in engineering.
• Experience in protection and control design for substations.

Responsibilities

• Lead protection & control design for substation and transmission projects.
• Design protection schemes and settings for substation equipment.
• Create P&C drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Lead a team of engineers and designers; mentor junior staff.
• Manage project budgets and schedules; ensure quality control.
• Collaborate with other design disciplines and stakeholders.
• Visit sites to address construction issues and modify designs accordingly.
