Job summary

United Grid Solutions is seeking an experienced senior engineer to lead protection and control design for transmission substation projects, including battery energy storage and solar substations. You will guide a team of engineers and drafters, manage budgets, and support business development and proposals.

The role requires a PE license and 8+ years of experience in utility substation engineering, with emphasis on P&C schemes, SCADA, and project management. On-site Fort Mill, SC preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a practicing engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET/EAC-accredited program OR equivalent evaluation by NCEES or advanced engineering degree from ABET-accredited institution.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead protection and control design for substation projects.
• Oversee schedules and budgets for the design team.
• Mentor designers/drafters and ensure design quality and accuracy.
• Develop and implement engineering specifications and drawings.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and other disciplines on site visits and issue resolution.
