Job summary

Pike Engineering seeks a senior engineer to lead protection and control design for substation and transmission projects in the United States. You will guide technical direction, manage discipline work, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safe, cost-effective, and high-quality engineering outcomes.

The role requires overseeing project schedules and budgets, supporting proposals, and providing expert input on complex P&C topics across substations up to 500kV, battery energy storage, and solar

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET/EAC accredited engineering program (or equivalent)
• Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to become licensed within one year
• Experience leading discipline work on substation projects

Responsibilities

• Lead protection and control design for substation and transmission projects
• Develop and oversee project scopes, budgets, and schedules
• Mentor engineers and draft staff; ensure design accuracy and compliance
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams, contractors, and clients
• Support proposal development and cost estimating
• Visit sites to address P&C issues during construction
