Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Protection & Control Engineer to lead high-voltage substation design, including protection, relaying, and control systems. You’ll mentor junior engineers, drive technical excellence, and collaborate with clients to deliver safe, reliable power infrastructure.

The role supports remote, hybrid work options within the United States and offers broad opportunities across multiple offices. Strong project management and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 7-10 years of Substation Protection & Control design experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Design substation protection and control systems using applicable codes and client standards.
• Develop protective relaying and control system designs for transmission and distribution substations.
• Create equipment and material specifications for procurement and project estimates.
• Lead client meetings and site visits to gather data and present solutions.
• Ensure QA/QC compliance and review engineering design packages.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers to ensure quality and consistency.
