The role emphasizes collaboration with clients and cross‑functional teams to ensure safety, reliability, and quality across complex utility projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 15+ years of experience in substation protection & control design engineering.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong document management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with excellent communication.
Responsibilities
- Design substation protection and control systems per codes and client standards.
- Develop relay protection schemes, control philosophies, and calculations.
- Create equipment specs and cost estimates for procurement.
- Prepare conceptual designs and layouts for new/existing facilities.
- Coordinate with teams, clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure project success.
- Lead client meetings, site visits, and QA/QC of design packages.
- Mentor junior engineers and review calculations, drawings, and specs.
