Job summary

Qualus is seeking an experienced Substation Protection & Control Engineer III to design and deliver reliable P&C solutions for high-voltage substations. This role emphasizes code-compliant engineering, mentoring, and collaboration with clients and cross-functional teams across projects that shape the future of power infrastructure.

You will mentor junior engineers, develop relay protection schemes, and coordinate with procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation teams to ensure QA/QC

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree.
• 4–7 years in Substation Protection & Control design.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong document management and organization skills.
• Detail-oriented with commitment to quality.
• Able to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; works well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design substation protection and control systems with diagrams, schematics, and bill of materials.
• Develop protective relaying and control system designs for transmission and distribution substations.
• Create relay protection schemes, settings criteria, and control philosophies; perform calculations.
• Prepare equipment specifications and cost estimates for procurement.
• Develop conceptual protection and control designs for new and existing facilities.
• Support procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations with engineering data and documentation.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success and QA/QC.
