Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in the United States is seeking a Senior Lead Substation Project Engineer to drive design and execution for power transmission projects from Boise, ID, Salt Lake City, UT, and other locations.

You will provide technical leadership across concept through commissioning, mentor engineers, and ensure QA/QC and safety standards. Responsibilities include coordinating with clients and internal teams, developing schedules and analyses, reviewing electrical studies, and guiding

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of post-education experience in design deliverables for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required (multi-state preferred).
• Strong knowledge of engineering design, codes, and safety standards.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and multidisciplinary coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of substations across multiple sites.
• Mentor engineers and designers; provide technical reviews and QA/QC oversight.
• Coordinate with clients, regulators, and internal teams; manage scope and schedule.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design documents.
• Review electrical studies (load flow, short circuit, grounding, protection).
• Support procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for HV substations.
