Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Substation Project Engineer for our Hailey, ID office to drive design and execution of utility‑scale substations. You will contribute across concept to commissioning, supporting projects with protection & control, SCADA, and grounding, while mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate with the Power & Energy Substation Team, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure QA/QC across multiple concurrent efforts, with travel as needed and an on‑site, hybrid, or remote work

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
7–10 years of post‑education substation design experience for utility‑scale projects.
Experience leading multiple substation projects concurrently.
Strong knowledge of protection & control, SCADA, and related disciplines.

Responsibilities

Provide high‑level technical guidance for multi‑site substation projects.
Lead design and review of medium‑ to extra‑high‑voltage substations, including diagrams, schematics, and layouts.
Develop project schedules, budgets, and deliverables; manage client relationships.
Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards.
