Job summary

WSP USA in Colorado is seeking a Lead Substation Project Engineer for our Lakewood office. You will provide high‑level engineering guidance across multi‑phase substations and oversee design, development, and construction of utility‑scale transmission and distribution infrastructure.

The role requires delivering QA/QC, coordinating with clients and internal teams, and mentoring junior engineers while advancing projects from concept to commissioning under IEEE/ANSI standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 7 to 10 years of post‑education experience on utility‑scale substations.
• Experience in medium‑ to high‑voltage substation design (15kV–230kV).

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑level engineering guidance for multi‑site substation projects.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Lead design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
• QA/QC reviews for technical deliverables prior to client submission.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with internal teams.
