Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in New Jersey is seeking a Substation Engineer Consultant to lead project teams of engineers, designers, estimators, controls and scheduling professionals in the design, modification and analysis of HV substations. The role combines on-site collaboration with remote work three days a week under a hybrid arrangement.

You will manage large programs, coordinate multi-discipline work, mentor staff, and support client relations and business development while delivering high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Engineering degree required.
• 10+ years in design engineering and/or management of HV utility projects.
• Experience with EPC / Owners Engineer / Traditional or Joint Ventures.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE and ANSI.
• Experience coordinating multi-discipline teams and client liaison.
• Strong proposal writing and cost estimation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project teams of engineers, designers, estimators, controls and scheduling professionals.
• Coordinate detailed design phases for all electrical engineering work.
• Coordinate work with civil, structural, and transmission teams.
• Lead to deliver on time, within budget and with high quality.
• Identify out-of-scope work and coordinate scope changes with clients.
• Prepare reports and studies meeting client requirements and Sargent & Lundy formats.
• Review calculations, drawings, specifications, and procurement docs.
• Develop and mentor team members.
• Communicate with clients for project and account support.
• Support business development opportunities with clients.
