Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Substation Project Manager to lead high voltage and EHV substation projects within the Power Delivery team. Based in Texas with the option to work remotely, you will manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, and client relationships across the South and Southwest.

You will oversee design, procurement, and field execution, ensure QA/QC, mentor staff, and report progress. Occasional travel to client offices or sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 12+ years of post-education project management experience in the Power Delivery/Utility industry.
• Minimum 5 years leading engineering/construction teams for high voltage/substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of contract, risk, schedule, and financial management in projects.
• Experience with Primavera P6 or equivalent CPM scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for HV and EHV substations, managing budgets, forecasts, margins, and KPIs.
• Engage stakeholders, maintain relationships, and report progress.
• Lead pursuit activities, go/no-go decisions, contract reviews, and risk mitigation.
• Lead contract negotiations and client presentations as needed.
• Ensure QA/QC adherence and guide staff.
• Coordinate resource and subcontracting needs with area managers.
• Maintain regular client communications and monthly status reports.
• Oversee problem project reviews and lessons learned.
• Ensure formal project closeout and documentation.
