Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) seeks an Engineering Manager - Substation to provide engineering excellence and leadership across project lifecycles. You will support field operations, account management, procurement, and key stakeholders within the QISG platform, focusing on high voltage substation projects.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will lead substation design teams and drive technical success.

Qualifications

• Strong background in engineering with extensive experience in high voltage substation projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• P.E. license is required.
• Experience in personnel management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards (ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NESC).

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, construction support, and closeout.
• Supervise a team of engineers, designers, and staff; provide guidance and performance evaluations.
• Evaluate and monitor engineering contractors and consultants.
• Assist in selection, training, and coaching of direct reports.
• Assign tasks to project design team based on needs and priorities.
• Ensure projects meet budget and schedule with cost-effective solutions.
• Oversee quality control procedures and compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with designers and project teams to develop solutions.
• Identify and address project-related problems; propose corrective actions.
• Travel as required, up to 10–25% of the time.
