Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in North America. You will perform hands-on engineering, design and studies for utility and developer clients, coordinating with multiple disciplines to deliver complete substation packages.

You will interface with clients and internal teams, lead technical efforts, and mentor junior staff. Travel up to 25% is expected to support projects and client meetings across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience within Substation projects from 4kV up to 500kV; ability to deliver complete substation package with minimal supervision.
• Experience with substation physical layouts, bus configurations, grounding, control buildings, lighting, and HV/EHV design and studies.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, detail design, studies and delivery of substation projects from 4kV to 500kV, ensuring quality, schedule and safe design.
• Prepare drawings, studies, bidding docs, BOMs, shop drawings, procurement and construction documents.
• Lead and participate in project estimates, proposals, and client engagement activities.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, HV P&C, telecom, geotechnical engineers to develop complete IFTC design packages.
• Act as Project Manager/Proposal Manager/Technical Lead to support growth in Power Delivery for the region.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform QA/QC on work; participate in client meetings.
