Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Substation Electrical Engineer to lead our Power Delivery & Renewables team in North America. You will perform hands-on design, studies, and project leadership for utility and developer clients, ensuring compliance with codes and Arcadis policies.

The role requires strong communication, mentorship, and cross-discipline coordination with civil, protection & control, and planning teams. Travel up to 20% is expected as part of client engagements and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in substation engineering, design, and studies.
• PE license required; experience in power delivery and renewables.
• Proficient with NEC/IEEE standards and relevant codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Substation Electrical team within PD&R.
• Coordinate with civil, protection & control, planning, and SCADA engineers.
• Act as Project/Proposal/Program/Account Manager to drive client goals.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform QA on engineering work.
• Engage clients and manage projects from development to construction support.
• Travel up to 20% for client sites and meetings.
