Arcadis, a world-leading design, engineering and consultancy firm, seeks a Principal Substation Electrical Engineer to join our Power Delivery & Renewables team in North America. The role leads hands-on substation engineering, design and studies for utility and developer clients, with responsibility for project execution, client engagement, and cross-discipline coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in substation engineering and design.
• PE License required.
• Proficiency in NEC/IEEE codes and design software (SKM/ETAP/CAPE/CDEGS/WinIGS).

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on substation engineering, detail design, and studies for utility and developer clients.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, protection & control, SCADA, and transmission teams.
• Perform QA/QC on engineering work and provide technical leadership.
• Manage proposals, programs, and client engagements to support growth in North America.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project execution and delivery.
• Travel up to 20% to client sites as needed.
