Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer to join our Power Delivery team in North America. The role focuses on hands-on substation engineering, detail design, and studies for utility and developer clients, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across transmission and distribution projects.

You will lead and mentor others, engage with clients, and help grow Power Delivery business while ensuring compliance with codes and Arcadis policies. Travel up to 25% is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of experience on substations 4kV–500kV; able to deliver complete package.
• Proficient with substation layouts, bus configurations, grounding, and HV/EHV design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SKM/ETAP, CDEGS/WinIGS or equivalent.
• Experience following NEC/IEEE codes and local standards.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, design, and deliver substation projects from 4kV to 500kV with quality and safety focus.
• Prepare drawings, studies, bidding documents, BOMs, and construction packets.
• Lead project estimates, proposals, client engagement, and business development.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, P&C, telecom, and geotechnical teams.
• Act as Project Manager/Proposal Manager/Technical Lead for regional work.
• Mentor junior engineers; perform QA/QC on team deliverables.
