Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer Consultant to manage project teams across design, modification, and analysis of high voltage substations. You will direct team leads, coordinate with civil and transmission staff, and ensure projects meet scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining quality.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement (three days in-office, two remote) and a substantial relocation package based on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Engineering degree required.
• Experience in Project Management of Utility Transmission, Substation or Energy Projects.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• 10+ years in design engineering/management of high voltage utility projects.
• Experience with EPC, Owners Engineer, Traditional or Joint Ventures.
• Experience as firm/client liaison in a support/engineer/management role.
• Excellent written and verbal communications; writing proposals.
• Experience in cost allocation, estimating, risk assessment programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage project teams of engineers, designers, estimators, controls and scheduling professionals.
• Coordinate and manage design phases with civil, structural, and transmission teams.
• Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and with high quality.
• Prepare reports and studies meeting client requirements and Sargent & Lundy formats.
• Support business development opportunities with existing and potential clients.
• Mentor and develop team members.
• Communicate with clients for project and account support.
• Review work including calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.
