Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer Consultant to manage project teams and lead detailed electrical design for high voltage substations. You will coordinate multi-discipline work, drive on-time and within-budget delivery, and mentor engineers across locations.

The role emphasizes client communication, scope management, and pursuit of business development opportunities with existing and potential clients. Hybrid work arrangement with relocation support may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an engineering program is required.
• 10+ years of experience in design engineering and/or management of high voltage utility projects.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Experience with EPC, Owners Engineer, Traditional or Joint Ventures contract structures is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; experience writing proposals.
• Experience with cost allocation, estimating, risk assessment programs and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams of engineers, designers, estimators, controls and scheduling professionals.
• Direct and coordinate detailed design phases for electrical engineering work.
• Collaborate with civil, structural and transmission teams across locations.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and with high quality.
• Prepare reports/studies in client and Sargent & Lundy formats.
• Mentor and develop team members.
