Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer to apply and expand engineering knowledge on high and extra-high voltage substations and transmission projects.

You will join project teams, develop designs, and prepare procurement specifications, with travel to client and vendor sites as required. The role supports a hybrid work arrangement, balancing office presence with remote work.

Qualifications

• This role requires a Bachelor of Science in engineering with strong preference for Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace or Chemical Engineering and coursework in Coding, 3D Modeling/Design, and AI awareness.
• Understanding of electrical engineering principles and design techniques for technical plans and 3D visualization.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and excellent written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on design of high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems.
• Prepare specifications for major electrical power equipment procurement and installation services.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and site coordination as needed.
