Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant substation or electrical T&D designing experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Knowledge of NESC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, and design guides for rural substations.
• Ability to review vendor submittals and ensure design parameter compliance.
• Experience creating construction documents and layout drawings.
• Ability to travel to job sites for data gathering.

Responsibilities

• Design and execution of high-voltage substations in the 34.5kV–500kV range with emphasis on safety, cost, quality and reliability.
• Generate designs and detailed engineering deliverables under supervision of lead engineer.
• Create general arrangements, elevations, grounding and conduit drawings.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and detailed project analyses.
• Follow supervisor instructions to perform complex design tasks.
• Produce drawings with standard CAD tools and ensure conformance with standards.
