GFT is seeking a Physical Designer (Substation) to design high voltage substations up to 500kV, with remote work options available anywhere in the United States. The role offers project diversity across transmission, distribution, and renewable energy, with emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency.

The candidate will contribute to engineering deliverables, coordinate with lead engineers, and travel to sites as needed to gather data and validate designs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant substation or general electrical T&D designing experience.
• Thorough knowledge of wiring codes and standards (NESC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI).
• Ability to review and coordinate vendor submittals for design compliance.
• Knowledge of substation phase spacing and electrical clearance requirements.

Responsabilités

• Design and execution of high-voltage substations from 34.5kV to 500kV with emphasis on safety, cost, quality and reliability.
• Prepare and study technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems for installation compliance.
• Create control enclosure layouts, cable tray layouts, conduit drawings and single line diagrams.
• Travel to job sites for assessment and data gathering as needed.
