Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking an Experienced Substation Design Engineer in Saint Louis, MO. You will support the Power & Energy Substation Team on complex projects, mentoring junior staff and guiding design execution.

The role offers a hybrid or in-office setup, with remote work considered for qualified candidates. You will contribute to due diligence, design development, and construction of substations across utilities and industrial sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 3–5 years of post-education experience in electrical engineering for power transmission/distribution.
• Experience with substation design and high-voltage infrastructure.
• Familiarity with design software: CADD, Aspen, CAPE, ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for design and construction of high-voltage substations (15kV–345kV, up to 500kV preferred).
• Analyze data, prepare reports, and ensure designs meet standards and regulations.
• Review design documents, procurements, and plans for physical and P&C aspects.
• Collaborate with engineers and regulators across projects and locations.
