Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Substation Project Engineer for our Saint Louis, MO office. You will support the Power & Energy Substation Team, lead complex substation design projects, manage execution, and mentor junior staff.

A hybrid or in-office setup is preferred, with remote considered for capable candidates. You will contribute to multi-site due diligence, design development, and construction of substations, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across utilities and commercial

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• PE license and significant substation design experience.
• Experience with 15kV–230kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Support Area Lead/Department Manager to achieve goals and maintain quality.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and contribute to equipment specifications.
• Lead detailed design of medium to extra-high voltage substations and prepare drawings.
