Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a senior construction manager with a California PE to lead complex bridge and structures projects across BKF locations. You will review submittals, manage contracts, and coordinate with clients and agencies to meet project goals.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of construction contract management experience, CALTRANS familiarity, and strong communication. Travel to BKF sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is required.
• California licensed P.E. is required.
• 7+ years of construction contract management experience on bridge/structures projects.
• Familiar with Caltrans methods and municipal projects; federal projects helpful.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides independent analysis of submittals including shoring and falsework.
• Reviews change orders, shop drawings, materials testing, and RFIs.
• Performs structure construction engineering on bridges, walls, and pump stations.
• Collaborates with field inspectors to ensure project goals are met.
• Executes field inspection and contract administration tasks.
• Manages staff and coordinates project activities.
• Monitors and reviews contractor schedules.
• Prepares daily reports and project documentation.
• Verifies material acceptability and maintains inspection records.
• Participates in recruitment and performance evaluations.
• Acts as primary client and agency contact; supports claims avoidance.
