Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a seasoned Construction Engineering Manager for our California-based projects, including bridges, walls, and pumping stations. You will lead field inspections, review technical submittals, manage contract administration, and coordinate with clients and agencies to ensure project goals are met.

Requires a BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, CA-PE, and 7+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• California-registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
• Valid California driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 7+ years of construction contract management experience on bridges/structures.
• Familiar with Caltrans methods and municipal/federal project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent analysis of submittals, including shoring and falsework.
• Review change orders, submittals, shop drawings, materials testing, RFIs, and drawings.
• Perform structure construction engineering on bridges, retaining walls, soundwalls, pump stations.
• Coordinate with field inspectors and project team to meet goals.
• Administer projects in absence of RE and manage staff.
• Monitor contractor schedules and prepare daily reports.
• Coordinate with clients and approving agencies; participate in claims avoidance.
