Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced loads analyst to support the development and operations of New Glenn. You will generate, communicate, and validate structural loads, using physics-based methods, hand calculations, and advanced tools.

Collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams is essential to deliver technically excellent results in a dynamic environment. The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, FEM proficiency (NASTRAN/MATLAB), and the ability to present data for engineering

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Passion for aerospace vehicle structural loads and related analysis.
  • Finite Element Modeling experience.
  • NASTRAN and MATLAB proficiency.
  • Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based methods.
  • Ability to present data for engineering applications.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Launch vehicle Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA) and coordinate across disciplines.
  • Document and communicate CLA results for internal, government, and commercial customers.
  • Develop/refine Finite Element Models and validate against modal tests.
  • Reduce FEM models using Component Modal Synthesis methods (e.g., Craig-Bampton).
  • Develop mathematical models and simulations for loads analysis.
  • Manage large data sets and post-process data for engineering use.
  • Support other loads tasks as required.
