Job summary

Blue Origin in Colorado is seeking an experienced structural loads engineer to join a small team supporting the New Glenn program. You will perform coupled loads analysis, build and refine finite element models, and communicate results to internal teams and customers. Candidates should have a B.S.

in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 8+ years of relevant experience, strong NASTRAN and MATLAB skills, and the ability to present complex data clearly. U.S. citizenship or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Passion for aerospace vehicle structural loads.
  • Finite Element Modeling experience.
  • Proficiency with NASTRAN and MATLAB.
  • Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based methods.
  • Ability to present data for engineering applications.
  • U.S. citizenship or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Launch vehicle CLA development and execution with cross-discipline inputs.
  • Documentation and communication of CLA results for customers.
  • FE Model development/refinement, validation, and correlation to tests.
  • FE Model reduction using Component Modal Synthesis methods.
  • General loads development for launch vehicles and ground systems.
  • Development of mathematical models and simulations for loads analysis.
  • Manage large datasets and post-process data for engineering applications.
