Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead structural engineer to drive multi‑discipline project design efforts in structural engineering, with a hybrid work arrangement. You will produce calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring technical soundness across project requirements.

The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and leading design activities for foundations and structures, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have ABET-accredited BSSE or MSSE degree.
• 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in structural engineering.
• Experience producing engineering designs for foundations and structures.
• Experience with ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC codes.
• DOE site experience preferred; ability to travel for project meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design engineering on multi‑discipline project teams.
• Produce engineering calculations, analyses, drawings, specifications, and reports; ensure technical soundness.
• Apply civil/structural expertise to design and qualification of structures, systems, and components.
• Produce procurement and construction specifications (Structural sections).
• Mentor junior engineers and monitor staff workloads within schedule and budget.
• Attend project meetings and perform field walkdowns.
