Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead-level structural design engineer in a role with hybrid work options. You will guide multi-disciplinary project teams, produce calculations, drawings, and specifications, and mentor junior staff across DOE-related projects. The position requires U.S.

citizenship, ability to obtain security clearance, and 10+ years of structural engineering experience. ABET-accredited BSSE/MSSE is required, with familiarity in ACI/ASCE 7/IBC/AISC and travel to project locations as

Qualifications

Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
10+ years of progressively responsible experience in structural engineering.
Experience with foundations, structures, and support structures design.
Experience with ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC.
DOE sites and facilities experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead structural design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team.
Produce engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, specifications, and reports with technical soundness.
Apply civil/structural engineering to design and qualification of structures, systems, and components.
Produce Procurement and Construction Specifications (Structural sections).
Monitor the work of assigned staff and manage tasks within schedule and budget.
Attend project meetings and perform field walkdowns; mentor junior engineers.
