Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead-level design engineer in a hybrid role based in Albuquerque. The position focuses on structural engineering for multi-disciplinary project teams and advancement opportunities within the firm.

The role requires guiding calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports, applying engineering expertise to structures and systems, and mentoring junior engineers while coordinating with project stakeholders. A strong emphasis on quality and safety is implied.

Qualifications

• US citizen eligible to obtain US Government security clearance
• ABET-accredited BSSE or MSSE from an ABET-accredited program
• 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in structural engineering
• Experience with design for foundations, structures and support structures

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design efforts on multi-disciplinary project teams
• Produce engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and reports; ensure technical soundness
• Apply structural engineering to design and qualification of structures, systems and components
• Produce structural procurement and construction specifications
• Monitor staff work; manage schedules and budgets
• Attend project meetings and field walkdowns
• Mentor junior engineers
