Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a mid-level Structural Design Engineer in the United States for a hybrid role combining home and office work. The position offers opportunities to lead multi-disciplinary design teams, deliver calculations, drawings, and reports, and advance in a dynamic environment.

Applicants should have 7+ years in structural engineering, an ABET-accredited degree, and the ability to obtain a US government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• ABET-accredited degree in structural engineering (BSSE/MSSE).
• 7+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Foundations and structural design experience.
• Familiar with ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC.
• Experience with DOE sites/facilities preferred.
• Experience in producing design drawings, analyses, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project teams.
• Produce calculations, analyses, drawings, specifications and reports; ensure technical soundness.
• Apply structural engineering to design and qualification of structures, systems, components.
• Prepare procurement and construction specifications (Structural).
• Monitor staff progress, manage tasks within schedule and budget.
• Attend project meetings and perform field walkdowns; mentor junior engineers.
