Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Project Lead Structural Engineer in Washington, DC to lead a team of structural engineers, interface with clients and other disciplines, and manage a variety of challenging projects in a hybrid work setting with three days in the office.

You will apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design, and oversee design calculations, reports, and drawings while mentoring teammates and coordinating reviews on client sites.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Ten+ years of experience in design/analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, ANSYS).
• Proficiency with design codes such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of structural engineers and interface with clients and other disciplines.
• Direct the preparation and review of design calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
• Supervise and mentor others in delivering quality engineering deliverables.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to project sites as needed.
• Support designers with drawing development.
