Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead-level structural design engineer for a hybrid role mixing remote and in-office work. You will lead multi‑discipline design teams and deliver calculations, drawings, specs and reports for complex projects.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in structural engineering, ABET‑accredited degree, ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance, and proven experience with foundations, structures and DOE projects; travel to sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• ABET-accredited BSSE/MSSE or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible structural engineering experience.
• Experience with foundations, structures, and support structures design.
• Experience with ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC.
• DOE site/facility experience preferred.
• Experience preparing drawings, analyses, calculations, and specs for construction and procurement.
• Willingness to travel to project sites for meetings and walk-downs.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design engineering efforts on a multi-disciplined project team.
• Produce calculations, analyses, drawings, specifications, and reports; ensure technical soundness.
• Apply structural engineering expertise to design and qualification of structures and components.
• Produce structural procurement and construction specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage staff within schedule and budget.
• Attend project meetings and conduct field walkdowns; communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
