Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team in a hybrid work arrangement. The role focuses on design, analyses, drawings, and reports for structural projects with opportunities for career advancement.

Essential qualifications include a BSSE/MSSE from ABET-accredited program, 5+ years in structural engineering, and ability to obtain US government security clearance. DOE experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• BSSE or MSSE degree or similar from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with foundations, structures, and support structures design.
• Experience with ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC.
• Travel to project locations for client meetings, walk-downs, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team.
• Produce engineering calculations/analyses, drawings, specifications, and reports; ensure technical soundness.
• Apply civil/structural engineering expertise to design/qualification of structures, systems, components.
• Produce procurement and construction specifications (structural sections).
• Monitor work of assigned staff, manage schedule and budget.
• Attend project meetings and perform field walkdowns; communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Mentor junior engineers.
