Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead-level structural design engineer in Richland, WA for a hybrid work arrangement. The role focuses on multi-discipline project design, engineering analyses, drawings, and specifications, with career advancement opportunities.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in structural engineering, ABET-accredited degree, and are eligible for a US Government security clearance. DOE site experience is preferred and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• BSSE or MSSE degree from ABET-accredited program.
• 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with designing foundations, structures, and support structures.
• Experience with ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, and AISC.
• Experience with DOE sites/facilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team.
• Produce engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Apply civil/structural engineering expertise to design and qualification of structures, systems, components.
• Produce procurement and construction specifications (structural sections).
• Monitor staff work on technical matters and manage tasks within schedule and budget.
• Attend project meetings and perform field walkdowns.
• Mentor junior engineers.
