Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a mid-level Structural Design Engineer to lead design efforts on multi-disciplinary teams and deliver robust calculations, drawings, and specifications. The role features a hybrid work arrangement with some office time and travel to project locations.

The candidate should have a BSSE or MSSE from an ABET-accredited program, 5+ years in structural engineering, and be eligible for a US government security clearance. PE and DOE experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• BSSE or MSSE degree from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with producing designs for foundations, structures, support structures.
• Experience with DOE sites and facilities preferred; PE license valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team.
• Responsible for the production of engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, specifications, and engineering reports.
• Apply civil/structural engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components.
• Produce Procurement Specifications and Construction Specifications (Structural sections).
• Monitor the work of assigned staff on technical matters pertinent to project assignments; maintain assigned tasks within schedule and budget.
• Attend project meetings and perform field walkdowns.
• Mentor junior engineers.
